Motorola to Set Up Manufacturing Plant in India

Motorola recently announced that it has planned to set up a manufacturing plant in Chennai, India to produce mobile phones and network equipment, with an initial investment of US$30 million. The investment for the new plant is expected to eventually grow to US$100 billion. The new facility is expected to start production in 2007 and the initial monthly production capacity for mobile phones is projected at one million units.
